Geocache Description:

You can attempt this at the Mt. Hope Boat Launch located at the end of Annawamscutt, take a right after Lafayette Dr. to the parking area.

*** NOTE.... THE WOODS THAT THIS CACHE IS LOCATED IN ABUTS MY YARD. I WANT TO LET ANYONE KNOW THAT COYOTES HAVE BEEN SEEN IN THE AREA CLOSE BY. IF YOU ATTEMPT THIS CACHE PLEASE HAVE SOMETHING WITH YOU THAT WILL SCARE THEM AWAY SUCH AS A WHISTLE, ETC.
IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT COYOTES HAVE BEEN SEEN ALL OVER THE TOWN OF BRISTOL...****

For information on coyotes please use the link provided from the RI DEM: (visit link)

RI Dept of Environmental Management dedicated this renovated launch on Aug 16, 2010. The existing launch was in such disrepair that you couldn't drive to the ramp. This new launch and parking area cost just under $ 1 Million, and was funded entirely on marine fuel taxes ( taxes finally being put to good use); this launch is also one of the only Handicapped accessable boat launches in the area.

Although there is ample parking in the lot, please make every attempt to park in the "vehicle only"spaces near the Gazebo if the lot is filling up with trailers.
All of the other spaces are for vehicles with boat trailers. The boat launch and Gazebo are handicapped wheelchair accessable, the cache unfortunately is not.

The cache is located in the woods adjacent to the launch, park at the coordinates listed and head due West from the trail head to the final.

The container is a small pop-lock hidden just off of the trail.
With the Spring thaw, I'd suggest boots due to some standing or running water on the trail.

Summer, bug spray.

As with all RI parks, the park is closed from 1/2 before sunset to 1/2 hour after sunrise, this is NOT available at night.

When you are finished, have a seat at the gazebo, or walk to the boat launch. Take in the scenic views of Mt. Hope Bay, from the ramp, looking to your left, you will see the entrance of the Kickemuit River, the new cooling towers at Montaup Power Plant, and Battleship Massachusetts under the Braga Bridge. Fall River, Massachusetts is directly across the bay, and to your right is Tiverton, RI.
