Die berühmten Meraner Promenaden zählen zu den Wahrzeichen der Kurstadt Meran und ziehen sich sanft und ohne besondere Steigungen entlang der Passer oder an den Hängen des Küchelberges hin. Durch die sonnige und geschützte Lage sowie die geringe Luftfeuchtigkeit im Winter trifft man hier ganzjährig auf subtropische Flora. Die Passerpromenade erstreckt sich zwischen Theaterbrücke und Postbrücke am rechten Passerufer. Sie wird vom Kurhaus von Meran, einem von Klassizismus und Jugendstil geprägten Bau mit schönem Konzertsaal, beherrscht. Ausgehend von der Postbrücke führen die Winterpromenade mit der Jugendstil-Wandelhalle und die schattige Sommerpromenade flussaufwärts entlang der Passer. Am Beginn der Winterpromenade befindet sich auch ein Denkmal der Kaiserin Sissi, die sich gerne in Meran aufhielt. Vereinigungspunkt der blumengeschmückten Sommer- und Winterpromenade ist der "Steinere Steg" am Ausgang der Gilfschlucht. Diese Rundbogenbrücke über die Passer stammt aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. Von hier aus führt die sonnige Gilfpromenade hinauf bis zur Zenoburg und zum Pulverturm.

Le celebri promenade meranesi sono uno dei simboli della città termale di Merano e si estendono dolcemente e senza salite di particolare entità lungo il Passirio o alle pendici del Monte Benedetto. Grazie alla posizione soleggiata e protetta nonché alla bassissima umidità presente nell’aria si trova tutto l’anno una flora subtropicale. La promenade sul Passirio occupa l’area compresa tra il Ponte del Teatro ed il Ponte della Posta sulla riva destra del Passirio. E’ dominata dal Kurhaus di Merano, una costruzione improntata al Classicismo e Rococò con una bella sala per concerti. Partendo dal Ponte della Posta la Passeggiata d’Inverno con la Wandelhalle (portico) in stile rococò e l’ombreggiata Passeggiata d’Estate risalgono il fiume Passirio ai suoi due lati. All’inizio della Passeggiata d’Inverno si trova anche un monumento dell’Imperatrice Sissi che si è trattenuta volentieri a Merano. Punto d’incontro delle Passeggiate d’Estate e d’Inverno adornate di fiori è il "Ponticello di Ferro" all’uscita del Gola Gilf. Questo ponte con arco a tutto sesto sul Passirio è del XVI secolo. Da qui la soleggiata Passeggiata Gilf porta su fino al Castel Zenoburg ed alla Torre delle Polveri.

The famous promenades of Merano are landmarks of this spa town. They run smoothly, without special gradient along the Passer or along the slopes of the Küchelberg. Due to the sunny and protected site as well as the modest humidity in winter sub tropical flora can be found all the year. The Passer promenade runs between the Theater Bridge and Post Bridge at the right bank of the Passer. It is dominated by the Merano Spa Hotel, a Classicism and Art Nouveau building with a beautiful concert hall. Starting at the Post Bridge, the winter promenade with its Art Nouveau lobby and the shady summer promenade lead along the Passer up-stream. At the start of the winter promenade is a monument for Empress Sissi, who liked to stay in Merano. The "Steinerne Steg" at the exit of the Gilf ravine is the junction of the flower-decorated sommer and winter promenade. This Roman arch bridge across the Passer is from the 16th century. From here the sunny Gilf promenade leads up to the Zeno Castle and the Powder Tower (Pulverturm).
