Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near what used to be the rail station at Winterbourne and is 2nd in a short series of caches with views of the Huckford Viaduct

This cache is number 2 in a short series taking you to different view points of the Huckford Viaduct, it is within easy walking distance of the first in the series GC2PTXX Via"duck"t View 1 - Quacks Pit

It is a nano cache - bring your own pen to sign log!

The Huckford Viaduct spans the River Frome just north of Winterbourne Down. It was built in 1902 as part of the Wootton Bassett to Patchway railway line. It now forms part of the line from Bristol to Paddington station.

The viaduct rises to 100 feet above the river, and is made up of 11 massive brick arches. The Frome Valley Walkway passes through one of these arches.

The next in the series is Viaduct View 3 - Dingle - GC2PV0C
