Many Geocachers would love to know how some people add fancy
formatting, links, and design elements into their cache
listings.
Well, it's all done using HyperText Markup
Language (HTML) - the language of the web. It is a simple
textual syntax in which all of the web's 63 billion pages are
written, and your web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox,
or Safari converts on the fly behind the scenes. We'll show you the
basics of how to write HTML and how easy it really is to spruce up
your own cache listings!
Join us for an afternoon in the library meeting room and we will
bring a data projector so all attendees can see the big screen. The
library also provides free WiFi, so you are encouraged to bring
your laptop if you wish to try out or show anything using Internet
access while you are there.
There is a Tim Horton's conveniently located just across the
parking lot for the coffee-inclined attendees. The library closes
at 5:00PM, so we have to clean up and be out by then.
