Geocache Description:

A well hidden spot.

Although he was still very young, Luigi was one of the best masons from his region. He knew all kind of tricks. He learned them all from his father who knew everything from his grandfather: many secrets coming from very long time ago when during the Middle Ages the masons have been building the great cathedrals...

In 1878 Signore Luigi got an interesting offer: he was supposed to move away from his native land into a new country and to build there the castle of the king. He didn't have a wife nor any children, so he accepted.

Signore Luigi arrived in Sinaia in 1879 and worked for years for the wonderful Peles Castle built for the Romanian King Carol I.

With time he bought a house and some land, he learned the local language and he got married but he didn't bother to teach his children Italian.

In 1888, when he got the news that his grandmother, Marie Therese, passed away somewhere in Italy, he built in her memory a little bench well hidden in the forest near Sinaia.

Not many people are aware of the existence of the small monument dedicated by the Italian mason to his grandmother. But the bench of Marie Therese is there in the mountains and a well trained geocacher should be able to reach it. Please wear good shoes and search carefully for the proper trail that gets there. The terrain is rather steep and, if you don't find the good way, it can become dangerous.
