This cache can be incorporated with The Last Plantation and Shivery Gill Pot as a six/seven mile walk starting from Hawes or Hardraw, otherwise a five mile there and back. Take a map and compass.
This cache has been placed with kind permission from the Estate of Stagsfell. Please note as this is a site of special scientific interest, CROW stipulations say no dogs are allowed off the right of way. Also the Estate can exercise discretionary closure of 28 days under the CROW act so permission would not be available on those days.
Follow the footpath from The Last Plantation up to the main bridleway/shooters track. Leave the track when you see some rocks that once was a lovely viewpoint cairn but has since been demolished. We have not been able to find out why. Wonderful views of the surrounding fells and Wensleydale and of course the River Yore (Ure). On a good day you will see Ingleborough which is one of the three peaks of Yorkshire's three peaks walk, a challenge to climb them in twelve hours over 23 miles.
You are looking for a small cache with log book and tradeable items including a pre-decimal penny and ha'penny, rocket balloons butterfly brooch, indoor golf ball, wristband and reward stickers. Please take a couple of stickers.
