Located on a flat section of C2C the route.
Between the C2C and the fence to the North I'm Located within the bowels of this growth.
The C2C cycle route follows the old Sunderland to Consett mineral line. The cycle route runs from Whitehaven on the west coast of Cumbria to Roker harbour in Sunderland on the east coast. At this point the route passes the site of the old Dunlop tyre factory, a major employer in the area from 1969 and 2006 producing 250,000 car radial tyres a year and employing around 600 workers. Today there are two more major employers on this site, Bae systems (2011) and Rolls Royce (2012).
