I recently hiked up to hoover lake and It was about 2.3km until the first cache. I thought that there should be more caches along the way to the lake so I decided to place one!
Hoover Lake is located just east of Stave Lake. Parking can be found on Dewdney Trunk Road, across from the Municipal Land-fill. Do not park in front of the gate. Follow the logging road up the mountain. At about kilometer 3.0 you will follow a well marked & rustic side trail to the shore of the lake. This trail intertwines with an old cedar plank corduroy road. For safety reasons, do not walk on the plank road as you may fall through it. At the lake, there are a few open areas where you can rest or eat before making your return trip.
It is a moderate to strenuous hike along a logging road to an easy walk along the lake. The hike is aprox 7.5 km return trip to the lake.The average grade is 10% with an elevation gain of 230 meters to the lake.
I have hidden 9 additional Cache containers in a bag, along with this cache.
Accordind to Grounspeak Policy, Cache pages cannot require, and should not strongly encourage, the placement of new caches.
Therefor these containers Must be declaired as swag. which means you are free to do whatever you want with them (for example you could use them to store pills in.)
You are allowed to use them to place your own hides, further along the trail but absolutley ARE NOT required to!
I do ask that you only take 1 container per GeoCacher.
