You will get a great tour of one of the Park District's latest additions to our parklands. The purchase of the Smith Property was in the works for several years, and was a great collaboration between owner, Victor Smith and Bill Yeck.
This property adds 39 acres to Bill Yeck Park, now making it our largest nature park totaling 194-acres. Grant Park is 187-acres. The historic home on the property started as a log cabin in the early 1800s, and has been added on to over the years. This is a three-stage multi-cache. You can enter the Smith Property from the main road. It is not signed as a park at this time, but you can go up the driveway and park. Or you can park at Forest Field Park if you are more comfortable. Enjoy!
