Geocache Description:

A Quick Find-One-Grab-One cache on the way between here and there that also once was great place to make easy recovery of a National Geodetic Survey Benchmark disc.

If you have a look a little farther down the page below in the ‘Find…’ section, and follow the
'…all nearby benchmarks' link. You will see that there used to be a National Geodetic Survey Benchmark (PID MG0511) that was located on the abutment a bridge that was built here in 1935. Recently that bridge was demolished and replaced with a new structure. Along with the old bridge, the Benchmark disk was destroyed. So, now you’ll only be able to claim one Smiley here. All may not be lost though. If you look to the north end of the new bridge, you’ll notice a new monument mark disk that has yet to be documented. Maybe someday it will possible to FOGO again here.
