the cache is a small green container containing only a log book BYOP
the light house was built in 1833. but is presently not being operated, as it was de-commissioned back in 1938 and sold to a private party. it was the first colonial lighthouse to be built in New brunswick beside the lighthouses built in gannet rock and machais seal island which were built in 1832. it was built as and octagonal wooden tower with a red lantern room. the only original part of the light house left is the tower it's self as the lantern room has been replaced of the years. it is currently the oldest surviving light house in new Brunswick but also one of the most endangered, and it is the only standing 8 sided wooden light house left in the province . the light house was nearly lost in the 1960's when the sea wall below it collapsed causing the light to tilt 30 degrees to the side. thankfully it was saved by the Charlotte county historical society, which means it is still standing and people can visit it
