How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is the beginning of a day of fun that both adults and kids will hopefully enjoy alot....This will be a short morning meet and greet Flash Mob Style to start the day off.

We will be meeting at/near the Starbucks in Hixson, TN (from 9am-9:15am) to hand out instructions for the fun and how to "monkey around".....Come early if you want to stop in and get coffee but at 9:15 the game begins so be ready to be off and on the hunt!

Here are the Game details: You can play as individuals or in groups.....You will be given a series of "things" (geocaches, monuments, certain locations, and such) to find here in the Chattanooga area and the main idea is to have fun while searching for them. Some will be easy to figure out, some will not. You might find them all, you might not. The whole idea is to get out explore, geocache and have FUN!!! I encourage you to take pictures along the way and then post for all to enjoy....there will be no direct order involved in how you find these "things" but remember the idea is to make your way down toward the Chickamauga National Battlefield by 1pm and be present for the WWFM (GC2VG47) there. It is close by there at around 1:30pm we will wrap up the game with a "bring your own grub" picnic (DRINKS and Chips PROVIDED) to hand out the prizes from the scavenger hunt! Coodinates for the picnic are: N 34° 55.408 W 085° 14.612...remember there are no grills/fires allowed in the park so keep that in mind when thinking what food you want to bring for yourself to eat.

Everyone is welcome at the event even if you don't want to participate in the scavenger hunt......but I do ask that if you do want to do the scavenger hunt PLEASE POST a WILL ATTEND, AT LEAST 24HRS in advance so I will know how many to expect and prepare for....don't want to leave anyone out of the fun! You can play as an individul or group (which I think is always more fun).
