Looking around today, the reserve is mostly deciduous woodland, with areas of grassland and wildlife ponds, but one can also see large old mature trees, ornamental plant species, sentry boxes and a sunken trackway. These are evidence of the site's past history. The area was relinquished by the MOD in 1983, purchased by the council and opened to the public. It was extended in 2004 to include an adjacent wood and helps to form a continuous path with sea views. It was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2005.
A lovely spot for a picnic with refreshments and conveniences nearby. A good place to chill out have a quiet walk and enjoy the flora and fauna within the reserve.
The cache is a plastic tube with log pencil and sharpener. (no pencil now as someone has stolen it)
Please use stealth and make sure you hide it well from muggles.
