in our disclaimer.
The Blue Mountains to the west of Sydney are a caching paradise,
good sized caches, Aliens, Zombies, amazing locations, challenges
of the physical, mental and technical, what more could you want
really? An event perhaps?? This really is the social event of the
year for anyone who caches on the mountains!
This is the 6th Anniversary Special Edition of the Blue Mountains
yearly event! Autumn in the Bluies, what a time of year, it could
be blue skies, or, it could be raining and cold, we have nearly had
everything at these events! So just come prepared for any weather
conditions and you will be fine.
Events are a great opportunity to come along and meet some of your
fellow cachers who share a passion for geocaching, no matter what
your experience, age or sex, everyone is welcome to turn up. Many
great friendships have been made by coming to events such as this,
come along and spend the afternoon talking geocaching and learning
more about the electronic side of caching. It's also a great
opportunity to meet the people who are placing the caches you are
doing, and beat them up. (The Bad Man, may, or may not make an
appearance, all depends on whether he manages to get out of his box
or whether he is out setting up something evil)
As usual this will be a pretty informal event, no black suit and
tie affairs here but please, even though it is informal - wear
clothing - there will be no NUDING UP FOR A SMILIE!! Like previous
years, we will hold this at Wentworth Falls lake, where there is a
large shelter and a double BBQ. But of course, as we found in
previous years, we are not always early enough to grab the shelter,
but, we do try our best. If we are NOT at the main shelter, look to
your left and I am sure you will see us, I mean, it's not like
geocachers actually blend in is it???
We plan to arrive early so we can procure the shelter and BBQs, but
turn up when you want from say 10:00am onwards. When you arrive,
look for the Geocaching logos, just in case there are other
picnickers there on the day. There are kids playground, toilets,
picnic tables and BBQs, but if you want to be safe, bring something
to cook on and sit on just in case. And lets not forget the lake
itself!
Kids are more than welcome as there will already be a few running
around of various ages!
BYO everything. Don't be shy now!!
If you have some coins or bugs, bring them along! People would love
to view and discover them. I'm sure the Geocaching Association of
NSW will have people in attendance and you should be able to buy
one of their great coins or pathtags.
We would love to see you at the event - Hope to see you there! If
you did not come last year, and you know who you are, we hope to
see you there this year.
Don't forget to post a "Will Attend" log to say you are coming and
with how many people. Lastly, make sure you put this on your watch
list so you get any updates as they happen.
