Geocache Description:

Another "area" of Bangkok. Home of the transformers. In days of old it was hard to find some things that were 220 volts and we required a lot of transformers to allow us to use 110v equipment that came from the US on our 220 volt power. Bahn Mo provided those transformers and became well known for electronic repair and building.

On the side of the canal one will find folk rebuilding fan motors and replacing the wire that has burnt out somewhere in the miles of wire spooled about the metal core. IN a world where things are disposable this is another example of Thai environmental awareness. It has been going on for years. Want your TV rewired there is a place somewhere to do it.

The area has lots of suppliers of everything electronic. Good luck finding them in the warren of lanes and alleys. Won't find what you are looking for but will find something cool that you weren’t looking for.

One can also see in this area the blending from Thai to Chinese as china town is but half a kilometer away.
