Foreign Currency Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This cache is found on Kate's Trail which is located on Elm Ridge Road. The start of the trail is located at (N 40 20.576 W 074 44.139). It is owned by D&R Greenway trust which has preserved over 100 properties in the area. There is no parking at the entrance of the trail so park on Alta Vista Drive and its a short (.1 mile) walk to the left. Please be careful on Elm Ridge Road as it is a fast road with a small shoulder.

This cache has a foreign currency theme. It started with 10 coins from 10 different countries around the world, Cuba, Costa Rica, Australia, Hungary, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Bahamas, Canada and America. Please bring a coin from a foreign country and exchange it. There is a very small log but my goal is for every who finds it to write their name and the country that they left. Feel free to bring currency from your country of origin or a place you have traveled. If you would like please bring a geocoin to the cache in exchange for a foreign coin. Both types of coins are absolutely accepted! It is in an old harmonica case which was camouflaged very well. This is by no means an "easy" cache and this is partly because he coordinates can be little off in this area every once in a while.

The hike is short but very cool. It goes all the way down to Stony Brook Creek. If you have time please enjoy the entirety of the loop. At parts the trail seems to disappear but follow the D&R signs on trees to stay on path. The beginning of the trail has pricker bushes on both sides and is overgrown at a few places but they do a good job of managing it. Hunting is allowed during season but not on sundays but to be honest I have never not been able to go on the hike due to hunting.

Enjoy the cache and the nature you observe!
