Geocache Description:


Saturday June 11th , Come out for a mid-morning geocaching event! A little get together of Geocachers to talk tall geocaching tales, swap travel bugs, and share GPS and geocaching tips. The event will be at the Hardees in Wetumpka from 9:30am to 10:30am.

After the event if anyone wants to go geocaching there are plenty in the area. For those more adventurous cachers who want join in several cachers will be kayaking down the Coosa River afterwards to go pick up the only 5/5 Earthcache in the area, “The Gap” GC2GKQB by Firenze!. We’ll caravan up to the Coosa Outdoor Center at 172 River Road , Wetumpka , AL 36092 (See link for kayak & canoe rental information. (visit link) ) for check in prior to 11:30 to catch the 12:00 bus. They’ll have safety classes prior to the trip & all your gear (good gear) is included with the rental.

Log your “Will Attend” well in advance on this one, so we can plan and ESPECIALLY if you want to join the kayak trip afterwards log it on your "will attend" Contact the COC and tell them you are with the “geocaching” group if you want to rent a kayak or would like to use their shuttle service. If enough people want to rent then we may be able to get a group rate. COC will want a credit card number if you want to rent a boat and the trips are VERY popular. Plan to take eats & especially drinks and a way to strap it to your boat. We’ll work with that as we go. Stay tuned for updates. If you don’t want to bring or rent a canoe or kayak maybe you might want to “tube” down it.
