The Stone Beach/Gravel Bed
This is a quick multi cache that will take you on a circular walk through Derrynoid Forest and along the banks of the River Moyola searching for three stages that will provide the information to locate the cache. At each stage there is existing signage from which you will collect the required information.
The coordinates in the cache listing are those of Stage 1
There is space for several cars at the parking coords. As well as car parking, I have the three stages listed below as additional waypoints.
The cache is a small tablock box placed inside a cammo bag.
It contains a log and pencil and a few small swaps(not the pencil)
The tree cover may, more likely will, upset your GPSr, so bear that in mind. Good walking shoes or walking boots are a must after rainfall as the paths can be mucky in places.
If you have children with you or, like me, you still skim the odd stone, I have included a further waypoint, STONE BEACH, which is situated between stages 1 and 2, here there is a stone / gravel bed which is completely safe for supervised children to skim or clod stones from at low water. Enjoy. (If there is a flood on it may not be accessible)

At stage 1 (N 54° 47.913 W 006° 48.281) you will find A and B. It is a post with a way pointer on it.
A = (the number of straight lines that make up the outline of one of the yellow arrows) - (7).
B = the number of triangles that make up the top of the wooden post.
At stage 2 (N 54° 47.974 W 006° 47.896) you will find C and D. It is an information panel.
C = the number of letters in the name of the Burn in the photograph.
D = the number of the Leave No Trace Principle that states - Be considerate of others.
At stage 3 (N 54° 48.000 W 006° 47.920) you will find E and F. From inside the fence rail you will see some road signs.
E = the number sides of the top sign's shape.
F = the number sides of the bottom sign's shape.
