Geocache Description:

The River Ter Loop is a circular walk of about 3 miles, partly along the banks of the River Ter just as it approaches its confluence with the River Chelmer.

It is one of my favourite walks, as it is peaceful and has lovely views, and the river is meandering and ideal for dogs (and people) to paddle! The first and last parts of the walk are along a road, but it is extremely quiet, with wide grass verges to step on to should a car happen to come along. The road follows the watershed between the valleys of the Ter and Chelmer, providing lovely views across to Hatfield Peverel and Little Baddow. The whole walk should talk about one and a half hours – in winter beware of mud, and also the river occasionally floods.

Parking is available adjacent to River Ter Loop # 1 – 1951 – The Other Side (at
N 51.45.349 E 00.35.630). This has room for about 3 cars. There is also some parking near caches 2 and 3 of this series.

You could combine this series with some of the CBN series, with a short detour from #1.

I hope you enjoy this series.

This cache is in a cameo bag. To find it, leave the last cache (Footbridge to HP) and the river behind you, and walk up Skylark Hill with the hedge on your RIGHT.
