Hauraki Heritage Reborn (Coromandel) Traditional Cache
Darby&Joan: Called by to check and cache has definitely gone. Seem to have had to replace this cache quite a few times over the years. So calling it a day on this spot. Thanks very much to all visitors and fun logs we have had over the years.
Hopefully some local cachers can take over the spot and give us something to find on our next visit.

A lovely park in the heart of Coromandel Town. Area access has been remodelled by the Council, so looks good for a cache here again.
This is a popular park in the centre of Coromandel Town. Suitable for pushchairs/strollers with toilets, playground and picnic tables nearby.
Hauraki House was a former Primary School. It was built in 1877 in response to the increasing population of the ‘lower town’ and to the 1877 Education Act allowing free education for all between the ages of 7 and 14. At first the school only consisted of the central section of the present building. Costing £290 it was built by Mr Midwinter on land purchased from Mr A Glover. The school was capable of accommodating 80 students. It closed as a school in 1977 and has since been used as a cultural center.
Cache is located in the gardens attached to the park. A lovely peaceful spot to sit and watch the babbling brook.
Please no bush bashing required. Also no need to cross the creek. There is a lovely pathway from the park side. Also tree and bushes should shield you from the carpark across the creek. Although some stealth may be needed from the park side.
The Cache is a small medical container, with some camo. PLEASE BYO Pen. Please place back where you found it. Thank you in advance.
