Welcome to the Bonegilla Migrant Experience - Block 19.
Between 1947 to 1971 over 300,000 migrants were housed at Bonegilla.
The first migrants that arrived were displaced persons from refugee camps and from 1951 it also housed assisted migrants.
This camp was closed and given back to the army in 1971 where most of it was demolished and only Block 19 still remains.
This cache has a personal significance for us as GeoMums grandfather stayed here after arriving from Germany.
We hope you enjoy this cache and take the time to stay and have a look around.
Cache is a small nano. Logbook only you will need a pen.
