This cache is in an area I used to go fishin with my old pal. Shepski
Shepski was a german shepard-husky mix. hence the name. She was a amazing dog, at age two she was hit by a car while crossing the road to 7-11. The doctors could not find a pulse, but she just sat there looking at you like nothing had happened. She was taken to a vet school in Columbia MO for surgery. They put in a steel plate and many screws. After that she was always a bit more cautious to cross the road. Shepski never showed any signs of trouble with her hip from the acident, she could still run and play like a kid. Several years later she got a new freind to play with Schnoozer a loveable Rottweiler puppy. These two had many wonderful years together. Shepski lived to a ripe old age of 15, and Schnoozer pasted away one month later to almost the hour, she was 11. Be warned that this area will have lots of mosquitoes during spring and summer. ****UPDATE**** Well I got some news on May 2 2011. The state of Illinois with all its financial problems has been cutting back funding on state parks. The message I received from the local superintendent was that Layton Road which leads back to the cache will be closed. Reasons behind this is funding. But I asked why does it have to close? This road is a big area for bad muggles to dump trash. The state park deceided it was cheaper to close the road than pick up trash piles. So now the cahe is still there it just changes from a 500ft park and grab to a 2 mile park and grab. **** END UPDATE**** Thanks go to Il State Parks for allowing me to place this cache **** 1.
