This is a series of 3 caches. If we only have 2 to 3 hours to play outdoors, we often pick a hike up Prison Hill's north end for the workout and the great views. Another thing we like to do is to find out if there's a cache along our planned route. This seems to motivate us to get out and "Take A Hike". So, Take A Hike #'s 1,2,& 3 is a good moderate hike that will get you a little workout and catch 3 caches.
In Carson City, park off E. 5th Street and Carson River Rd. at 39 09.605 N 119 43.498 W, and get your water and snacks on. The trail head starts .58 miles from the parking area at 39 09.190 N 119 43.876 W. Yes, you can drive to the trail head in a high clearance vehicle, but remember what we're doing here is to "Take A Hike", and we've found the walk over gets you warmed up for the uphill trail ahead. Stay on the trail as it winds around and when you get close and directly east of the cache, leave the trail and go for it. If you're like us, the foot race is on! Enjoy the view!
