This a a nano-cache, placed in tribute of my other favorite thing besides geocaching, the Brasilian martial art of capoeira. The cache is accessible 24-7, but to get the best effect, try to pass by during an evening or weekend when class is in session. The group welcomes curious "window shoppers" who are interested in seeing capoeira in action.
The cache is tiny, and camoflouged to blend in with surroundings, but should be a pretty easy find.
Capoeira is a Brasilian martial art which has been gaining popularity in the US over the last three decades. Recently parodied on the cartoon show "Bob's Burgers," where it was described as "Sexy dance fighting," capoeira is actually a martial art form with its origins in the Bahia region of Brasil during the 19th century. The legend of capoeira is that slaves brought from Africa by the Portuguese were not allowed to practice martial arts or self-defense, but were allowed to continue ritual percussion and dance. Thus, they disguised their martial arts training to look like a dance coordinated to music.
If you grab the cache during a training session, you'll likely be undetected as the capoeiristas tend to train intensely and are used to being watched by passers-by. If you are lucky, you may even see a roda (circle), where the capoeiristas compete two-by-two to the sounds of the berimbau (a string percussion instrument unique to capoeira), the atabaque (somewhat like a congo drum), and the pandeiro (tambourine) while they sing traditional songs of the slaves in Portuguese. You could even get away with snapping a picture to post at this cache's website (for bonus points).
