A walk to a cave up the valley on the path from Martindale. The actual cache is not in the cave.
We spotted a cave marked on the OS map that we'd not previously visited so cache in hand we set off to investigate. A walk with a degree of elevation but not too taxing and beautiful views up Bannerdale and Ramps Gill along the way. Another walk in the most beautiful scenery - the 'away from it all' so peaceful Lakeland. The cave isn't huge but it is there - just like it says on the map! “One should always have a definite objective, in a walk as in life”, wrote A.W., “It is so much more satisfying to reach a target by personal effort than to wander aimlessly”. And this describes Geocaching in the words of the Master.
