Geocache Description:

In April 2010 the CHP began the ‘Drive to Stay Alive Campaign.’ This one year crackdown was aimed to enforce the driving laws for the 5 mile stretch of Highway 101 between 156 and the County line. During the previous year there were 136 accidents, including 3 deaths and 63 injuries, on the most dangerous area of roadway in the county.

The location of this cache is in a prime area for CHP to stop and wait for speeders to pass. Please beware of the 60 mph speed limit when driving through this area. And of the muggles afoot, this is a common location for Caltrans workers to stop for lunch.

Drive Safe.
