Project APE(tribute) (Southland) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Zero Gravitas: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A tribute to the great APE Caches, and a movie studio willing to support a fledgling hobby, as mentioned in the Planet of the Apes (2001), Definitive Edition DVD cover: "To promote the release of the movie, 20th Century Fox launched a high tech scavenger hunt in which participants could use Global Positioning Systems to decipher coordinates posted on the internet that would lead them to props that were used in the film!"

"This is not. The greatest cache idea in the world, no, no....this is just a tribute" Tenacious D.

Project APE(tribute)

The Resource is a mysterious container, with a white "flight log" and "Transitory Insect" segment of 1.1L capacity, further space is to be left for docking SEMOS Probe, a space vehicle willing to leave The Resource for a short, checked in and out voyage of a week or so.

Please keep SEMOS PROBE operational status updated, whether docked inside The Resource or visiting the domiciles of our fellow geocachers :-)

==========

Stardate 2011
-------------------

Upon returning from awful planet where animals had alternatively evolved into species known as "huemin beengs", I returned through the black hole to the correct timeline - or so I thought. Upon arrival I noticed two of our beloved monuments had fused, the seated figure of beloved General Thade, and the great pointed obelisk monument. Seated figure now resembled a "huemin" animal (although they detest being referred to as animals, instead seeing themselves "above" evolution, how strange), perched atop obelisk. Have the feeling something is terribly wrong, that this is not the APE dominated land coordinates suggested.

Have hid The Resource in a local jungle, with help from Major Don "Key" Kong, should hopefully resist "hueminis muggletosis" intrusions. "Flight log" and "Transitory Insect" segment fully functional, has and will stay intact with The Resource. SEMOS Probe is fuelled, capable of deployment to exotic DVD players in parts unknown, on condition of logged in and logged out status with The Resource is shared publicly online, for easy rendezvous with other geocachers. Beware curious constellation of PUZZLING trees further east of The Resource location, last received communication from Major Kong was "(static)….yes you've finallllllly maaaaaaaaaade a MOOOOOOONKEEEEEEEEEY…(unintelligible)". Although, upon second inspection, they are rather intriguing…… with their pointy leaves and…… The Resource control to Major Kong, you've really made the grade! BRB, in five minutes…or maybe a bit longer…. *** Its quite possible to find The Resource during the day, however you'd have MUCH more privacy getting it later on in the day, please respect the cache, its location, and the surrounding plants ***
