Geocache Description:

A series of caches around Hagley Village that link well to the Hagley Loop series. This cache is near the site of the Cross Keys public house that has been converted to residential dwellings.

The Cross Keys pub was built in the 19th Century adjacent to Gallows Brook that demarcates the boundary between Hagley and Clent. It is thought that there had been an Inn on this site since much earlier, probably dating as far back as the 17th Century and the times of the English Civil War. The pub was reputedly haunted and the landlords would tell of spooky noises or strange occurrences. The pub was closed a few years ago and converted to residential dwellings, so hopefully the spirits departed at the same time!

The cache is a small specimen tube and is on the opposite side of the road to the old pub building and is on the junction of two extremely busy roads. There is a pavement, but take care as the traffic moves quickly. There is no place to park within a couple of hundred yards either side of the junction so it will be best to walk from one of the other caches in the series rather than attempt to do a cache and grab.

Stealth will be required during daytime due being in full view of cars waiting at the traffic lights, and customers on the garage forecourt. Evenings may be better to get this cache.
