This cache is placed to honor Norman Borlaug (1914-2009).
Born and raised in Iowa, Norman Borlaug entered the University of Minnesota in 1933, where he eventually earned his Ph.D. in plant pathology and genetics in 1942. Borlaug went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 for his contributions toward expanding the world's food supply.
This cache is located in Linner Park, one of Minnetonka's 43 neighborhood parks. Be sure to check out the other geocaches nearby!
