My granddaughter has a strong fascination for dragons. So we hiked to the top of the Escalator on the Sunshine Coast Trail and placed this cache. The large dragon will watch you come up the trail while the smaller dragon guards the way down. The Escalator is a steep switchback trail with a few obstacles.
This cache is on the southern part of the Sunshine Coast Trail near Saltery Bay Ferry terminal. You can park in the lot just east of the terminal and walk to the beginning of the trail by keeping right down the roads (towards the Fairview Trail). You can make a walking loop by continuing on the trail to Pirate’s Cove, along the shoreline and then back into the woods. When you reach the road, turn left and the road will take you back to Saltery Bay. Give yourself a couple of hours.
