Geocache Description:

I am placing this cache on my 40th birthday in honor of my grandparents.

This cache is in the location where my mother was born and raised. I will at a later time be placing a picture of the house that she grew up in.

My Grandfather and Grandmother (Sylvester Skinner and Mary Edna Ruby Skinner) bought the house and little mining town of 53 acres for $100.00 in the early 1920's. It contained a big boarding house and several small company houses (4-6).

My mom (Bonnie Skinner Wilt) was the youngest of 14 kids. She was born in the house in 1935. My Grandfather passed away in 1941, my Grandmother lived there till 1970.

The train used to run right beside the house, where the bike trail is now. Every morning the Engineer from the train would throw the Cumberland paper off at the house. After the coal trains would go my mom and her brothers and sisters would go and gather the coal that fell off of the train.

This cache is started with little trinkets and a log book. Bring your own pen.

A First to Find prize is a unactivated TB.

Placed with permission of landowner. Right off of state ground.

Congratulations to D.R. Bootleggers for the FTF!
