Choppington North Traditional Cache
duncanhoyle: After a dnf I thought I'd check the cache whilst in the area. Not sure why it's missing as it's an unlikely area for someone to find the cache by mistake.
This isn't the sort of location I enjoy anymore so archiving

This cache is placed at the northern end of the Choppington Community Woodland. The woodland stands on the site of 2 disused coal pits and is now managed by Northumberland County Council.
If you're lucky you'll see red squirrels and roe deer.
The cache is hidden amongst some gorse so long sleeves and possibly eye protection might be a good idea.
There's a parking spot just to the north on the A196 (55°09.619'N, 1°37.209'W). This will give a 1/4 mile walk to the cache.
Alternatively, park at the eastern edge of the wood on the A1068 (55°09.016'N, 1°36.313'W) and have a 3/4 mile walk.
Thanks to the council and the Friends of Choppington Woods for giving permission and helping find suitable locations.
(NB. I've just noticed that the parking coordinates were wrong so I've put in corrected ones 14/5/11)
