Geocache Description:

- Recommend you park along the road in the vicinity of: N 31° 25.672 W 110° 05.765. Check out GC2PRYE while you're there...if you're feeling up to the challenge! Then Walk .12 miles east along the path towards the old train truss. Use your GPS to go from there...

- The ground around the train truss is covered with loose stones from the old rail line; please be careful and watch your step.

- Altitude of cache is approximately 4,220'.

***I'm currently deployed to Afghanistan. This is a great cache and needs someone to adopt it and care for it being that I'll be gone. Please send me a message if you're interested.

- Standing at the base of the old truss and seeing the mountains through it, in the distance; looks like you're standing in the middle of an old Clint Eastwood Western (Two Mules for Sister Sara). Take a moment to check out this cool historic place.

- Aside from the amazing view looking through the truss, from east to west, I wanted to share this historic rail line.

- The discovery of silver at Tombstone caused the most activity along the formerly peaceful San Pedro, as stamping mills clanked iron hammers along its shores and robbers lay in wait for trains and coaches carrying valuables to and from the mines. The railroad tracks along the San Pedro River to Fairbank connected the mining areas to the Southern Pacific railroad's east-west main line at Benson. Tracks were later extended to Naco on the Mexican border. A railroad track was built to link the mine in Nacozari to mining operations in southern Cochise County, and the twin towns of Naco, Arizona, and Naco, Sonora, grew at the point where the railroad crossed the international border.

- If you have time; I'd recommend walking, running or mountain biking approximately 3.5 miles along this old rail line and snagging the following nearby caches: GC2PRYE, GC2HYWN, GC2J07D & GC2HHEX.
