This Meet and Greet will coincide with the
arrival of the David Thompson Columbia Brigade in Thompson Falls on
June 9 - 2011 at approximately 5 PM.We will have a tent setup with
geocoins for discovery, trades and free swag with giveaways. We are
working with local geocachers to have several new caches placed to
help us with this event. If you are interested in helping with
these caches please contact me.
The David Thompson Columbia Brigade is
following the route taken by David Thompson in 1811 that opened up
the transcontinental fur trade route that was used for over 50
years. As many as twelve, six-man North Canoes will be paddling
from Invermere, British Columbia Canada to Astoria, Oregon USA,
where they will land July 15th, 200 years to the day that David
Thompson landed there.
Take advantage of this Meet and Greet to visit
with old geocaching friends and make new acquaintances. There are
geocachers on the Brigade from Alberta, British Columbia,
Washington and Wisconsin so this is an excellent opportunity to
expand your circle of 'geocaching friends'.
Please place this page on your
watchlist as I will be updating the exact times of the event as
they are generated and confirmed. The geocoins will be given away
in a draw for participants of this event. Each event along the
route will have door prize draws and free swag.
