Barney, was the resident cat, who lived at Sandstone Ranch for 20 years between March 1988 and January 2008! She was given her name by the Bigelow family (former Sandstone Ranch residents) because she was a barn cat.
At this location you will be visiting Barney's grave and memorial plaque. Please do not disturb the area too much as you're just looking for an easy-to-find film canister.
If you plan on visiting the Sandstone Ranch Visitor Center, the hours of operation are:
- Year Round - Every Tuesday 9:00 am - Noon
- AND on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month (March-October) 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Visitor Center & Handicapped parking is located at: N 40 9.213 W 105 2.381
Non-Visitor Center parking is located at: N 40 9.262 W 105 2.232
The cache can also be accessed via the St. Vrain Trail which has parking at: N 40 8.930 W 105 3.295 for those who want to walk/bicycle into the area.
