A cache series on the abandoned
railbed of The Bytown and Prescott Railway
Please do not drive to the caches on
this trail.
This series of 17
caches is placed between County Road 21 from Spencerville in the
north, and Glen Smail Road in the south. They are all placed close
to the rail line.
History Tidbit:Because of the dense swamp, the only practicable
time of year to survey was when the snow was on the ground. With
but two assistants, Shanly surveyed the route on snowshoes during
March 1851.
All the micro caches are winter friendly, but some of the larger
ones are not.
This section of the trail should be easy to navigate by mountain
bike, and is in quite good shape.
The trail is part of the snowmobile trails in the area.
Good luck and have fun!
