A cache series on the abandoned
railbed of The Bytown and Prescott Railway
Please do not drive to the caches on
this trail.
This series of 17
caches is placed between County Road 21 from Spencerville in the
north, and Glen Smail Road in the south. They are all placed close
to the rail line.
History Tidbit:At night, Shanly slept out in the open or
sheltered in the small hamlets along the route. He surveyed three
routes which means that, in effect, he walked on snowshoes between
Bytown and Prescott three times.
All the micro caches are winter friendly, but some of the larger
ones are not.
This section of the trail should be easy to navigate by mountain
bike, and is in quite good shape.
The trail is part of the snowmobile trials in the area.
Good luck and have fun!
