There has never been an event cache out in Bluewater Lake! We
are sponsoring an event this weekend and all are invited.
We hope all the superb Grants, Gallup and Farmington geocachers
can join us for the fun!
Tux will have 10 genuine geocache hides (no puzzles, but real
some trekkers) in place (plus 10 contributed by Beeluvrs) and all
attendees will receieve the coordinates on Friday night, via
electronic signal.
Frank will show off his bratwurst culinary skills on Saturday
evening. We will have boat rides for those who want a change of
pace (and for those seeking the underwater cache)! UUesley will do
one of his infamous stand-up routines by the firelight Saturday
evening! Who knows! There might even be cotton candy!
Bring yourselves!
Bring your families!
Bring your four-legged companions!
More details to follow!

MAY 26 UPDATE:
For those who will be camping: there is
excellent cell phone service at the camprounds (I was able to get
3G). No internet service but you can tether to WI-FI - Verizon has
the nearby tower.
Restrooms are clean, have running water and
showers.
There is ice available at 2 locations just
outside the park entrance.
The I-40 exit for Bluewater Park is 63. There
is gas at exit 72, better services at exit 79.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash in the
campground area.
Adult beverages are fine, but no glass
containers, so bring your beers in cans or pour the bottles into
plastic cups.
We will provide the main course, you bring
your drinks and anything you wish to share with the
group.
AS OF 5/26 THERE ARE FIRE RESTRICTIONS AT THE
PARK. THAT MEANS NO OPEN FIRES, NOT EVEN FOR GRILLING. GAS STOVES
ARE OK.
There are two very nice grills at Group
Shelter #1. If there is rain and the fire restrictions are lifted
by 6/25 we will have full use of the grills. If not, we'll go with
hot dogs, brats, kraut and German potato salad.
The festivities will start around 4:00 PM so
everyone can have lots of caching time. Everyone who has signed up
for the event will receive the coordinates to the new caches via
e-mail Friday night. As of now there are 20 new caches in place,
plus lots of existing ones.
There will be more updates prior to June
25.
