Zhulyany Airport
Municipal airport “Kyiv” Zhulyany is
situated almost in the city, just eight kilometers from the
Kyiv’s downtown. The area of the
airport is 265 hectares (655 acres). It has one runway of 1800
meter (1,12 mile) long and 49 meter (160 feet) wide.
Zhulyany Airport is the old airport of the capital. It has
been abandoned for years by the major airlines which have opted for
the well-known and most modern airport located in Boryspol (KBP), outside Kiev. This was until March
2011 when the Wizz Air flights were
moved from Terminal F of Kiev Boryspol
to Zhulyany, which is a good airport
for low cost companies.
At Zhulyany Airport a
lot of old (military) planes in all sizes can be seen.
