Anogia is a well-known village historically for its resident's
resistance to the conquerors, Turkish and Germans. Today's village
has been built three times since it has been burnt down twice by
the Turks and once by the Germans. It has also long traditions in
music with many big performers.
A walk through the village is recommended. Many places to sit
down and rest, a lot of chapels/churches and good outlooks over the
area with a lot of villages and settlements.
