This puzzle cache was set up to draw attention to a little art project at Pen-Yr-Englyn, between Treorci and Treherbert. This is a series of mosaics showing life in the valley from earliest times to the present. The mosaics are based on pictures drawn by children from nearby primary schools.
Both the mosaic and the cache site are wheelchair-accessible. However, someone in a wheelchair would not be able to retrieve the cache itself.
The coordinates given are for the mosaic, which you will need to look at to solve one set of coordinates. The actual cache is a short distance away.
Parking is possible on the main road, but there is also lots of space on the side road leading past the school.
You will need to cross the main road. Unfortunately, there is no zebra crossing or traffic light. However, crossing is usually not too much of a problem, although it can be awkward at peak commuting times.
Looking at the mosaic and the information plaque:
Number of times the daffodil motif appears = F
Subtract the number of fires from the number of pots = G
The number of letters in the name of the organisation which coordinated the project = H
The number of spots on the butterfly added to the number of blue flowers plus 4 = J
The number of sheep watching the ploughman plus 5 = K
The school across the road from the mosaic has a motto:
Using the convention A=1, B=2 etc: (sequence number for the first letter of the first word) minus (sequence number of the 5th letter in the second word) = A
Number of times E appears in the motto minus number of times T appears = B
Number of times H appears in the motto: = C
(Number of letters in first word multiplied by number of letters in second word) divided by 10 and then squared and then 20 added = DE

The cache is a little bit larger than a film canister, but not much. A wheelchair user could get within a few feet, but would need help to retrieve the cache.
