In the mid-90s, Sam Kass & Karen Bryla (card-carrying nerds, no doubt) enhanced the classic game by adding a pair of new weapons, thus lowering the odds of a tie to 1 in 5, or 20%. The additions were Lizard and Spock. In this updated version of the game, the powers of each weapon are as follows: Rock crushes Scissors and Lizard, Paper covers Rock and disproves Spock, Scissors cut Paper and decapitate Lizard, Lizard eats paper and poisons Spock, Spock vaporizes Rock and smashes Scissors.
To complete this multi, you will need to check out each of the 5 stages and look for a specific clue which will assist you in finding the final location. (My apologies to all desktop cachers: in order to get you away from your computers I have intentionally made the collecting of clues virtually impossible to achieve using online resources such as Google Street View – GO PLAY OUTSIDE!!!)
Naturally, the 5 stages are called Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, and Spock, but there is no requirement that they be found in any particular sequence. Each of the clue locations came to my attention while caching in the Greater Vancouver area. Please note: Spock has gone missing and the business at original location of Scissors had closed so you will need to check out the new waypoint information.
My goal here is to test your determination (rock), memory (paper), observation (scissors), stealth (lizard), and logic (Spock) skills. The final location will challenge your ability to think on your feet. Remember to be kind to the environment and please return the cache container as you found it, or better.
The new, smaller replacement ammo can is as well-stocked as the original with FIVE themed prizes: Rock - handmade cufflinks, Paper - $100 bill napkins, Scissors - pocket scissors, Lizard - sticky gecko, and Spock - Mr Spock action figure (sorry, it's the Zachary Quinto Spock, not Leonard Nimoy!). Good luck, and good caching!
IMPORTANT NOTE - I was able to access GZ without snowshoes today (April 24)) but it can't hurt to have them with you during the winter months.
