A simple, fun rock-themed cache. An easy drive and short walk off Hwy 160 between Las Vegas and Parhump, Nevada. No real altitude change, just flat, rocky scrub typical of the area. Most cars should be able to navigate the road, but don't let your hubby bring his rat rod. No wheel chair accessible, but kids and older folk shouldn't have a hard time.
To celebrate our first series of caches, we decided to dedicate them to three of our favorite American rock heroes. This "Rock Box" is second of three, featuring Texas-born rocker Janis Joplin. Last will be in honor of Doors front man Jim Morrison.
The cache is a standard ammo can with a "Steal Your Face" decal and a big Janis Joplin sticker. Inside, you'll find many many goodies, including geocoins, nag champa incense, Chuck-E-Cheese tokens and a nice battery case. Right before we set it I added a copy of my wife's ukulele band's Christmas album. Oh, and a crap ton of stickers and trackables! Be advised TBs are freebies and aren't logged. Not a heck of a lot for kids, but a few fun items. Enjoy!
