Geocache Description:

Cyprus Monument

The Holy Cross is a monument of the 14th century. From the date found at the back wall of the temple shows that the eastern part was built in 1341. The church is a type of cruciform with a dome. The church is a relic of the Holy Cross in the center of which is stored a part of Holy Cross. The cross is covered by a rare silver miniature work of the first two decades of the 14th century including Depictions of Christ's Passion, betrayal, and hauled the Christ, the Crucifixion and burial. At the end of the horizontal antenna attend St. Constantine and St. Helena, while the vertical leg of the antenna presents Bishop Olvianos. Olvianos was a Bishop from the early 14th century to 1307. At the junction of the arms of the cross has embedded gilded silver plaque depicting the Crucifixion dated 1933.
