WWFM VIII - JAG Style Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Seanachai: Greetings from Geocaching.com,

As part of my duties, I am archiving this cache as it has been over 30 days since the event occurred. From the Geocaching.com listing guidelines regarding event caches:

"After the event has passed, the event cache should be archived by the organizer within four weeks."

Thank you for taking the time to create and host this event, but it is time for the listing to be archived.

Geocache Description:

World Wide Flash Mob VIII
"Show Your JAG"

This event is a "Flash Mob" gathering of geocachers, only 15 minutes long!

To claim the event, you must be present and drop a signed log sheet into the marked container during this time.

"WWFM" stands for the World Wide Flash Mob event

Hundreds of events all around the world are coordinated to happen at the same time
to bring together geocachers and introduce others (non-geocachers) to geocaching.

You've heard of MEGA-EVENTS...

This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways.
Sort of like a MICRO-EVENT.

Come be part of this historic experience!

The event will begin precisely at 12:00pm on June 4, 2011
and will last EXACTLY fifteen minutes, not one second longer.

EVENT DETAILS

11:45 - 11:59 AM
Cachers: Wait patiently down the halls or stroll around the area. STAY AWAY from ground zero! As much as you can, just act like a muggle. There are plenty of stores within sight of ground zero...

11:59 AM
Make your way toward the event coordinates

12:00 NOON exactly
We will place an ammo can for log sheets near the coordinates. As you arrive, we'll hand you an official event "personal log sheet'. Participants must sign the log sheets (one per team/geoname please) which we will put together later as the log book. To qualify for attendance, drop them into the ammo can.

12:05 PM
We will gather and take a group photo.

12:10 PM
We will draw for some quick door prizes - first prize will be the right to claim FTF (First to Find).

12:15 PM exactly
The log sheets will be packed up and sealed away. The event area will be evacuated without a trace.

Logistical details... Ground Zero is in the center court of Dyersburg Mall. There is a raised dais that should accomodate dozens of people. You can see this area from the main (East) entrance and can see it within moments of entering the secondardy (West) entrance. The two anchor stores (North and South) are within a couple of minutes of ground zero, so please feel free to use any entrance you'd like.

I will attempt to have someone from the local newspaper on hand.

JAG is what we call our local group of cachers - Jackson Area Geocachers - see our Facebook Group at - (visit link)

There are over a dozen caches in the general area for you to go find after the event, possibly more if I can get some placed... :-) Is there any interest in another event later in the day, perhaps at a restaurant?
