Geocache Description:

A lovely circular walk behind historic Fort Widley which was part of 'Palmerston's Forts' and built between 1861 and 1870.

Great area for dog walking.

The top field by the car park is excellent for picnics and kite flying too!

Our 3 caches will take between half an hour and an hour depending on how many times you stop! There are obvious paths to follow that are relatively flat; just a couple of styles involved. Do complete the loop by following the path behind the Fort itself - the views of the engineering involved are quite amazing.

This is a nice simple cache, a small clipbox, aimed at children, with typical kiddy goodies inside.
