Roquemore Memorial Park Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

TeamBulldawg: As much as we hate to do this, I have to take it down. Seems that it always goes missing either from the maintenance crews or unruly kids.

Geocache Description:

A very quiet and quaint little park. Just the right size for a multi-cache.

We were out and about and decided to stop in at this little park in Lakeland. I could not resist placing a multi-cache here in this park. To get to it, turn east on Bostic Avenue and then South on Roquemore. Park anywhere close to the lake in the available parking area. The search will have you circling the lake.

Enjoy the many monumental items in this park as you wander around looking. There are many smaller memorials to different people in addition to a 9/11 memorial. There are also plenty of park benches, picnic tables, a gazebo, several other items to look at and lots of room for the kids to play.

You will have to solve a couple of puzzles to find the stages. This was easier than replacing the containers that kept disappearing on us. To solve them you will be counting letters of the names and using numbers in place of them. For example using the name Dana to find N 31 02.DAN you would count the letters of the name Dana and come up with D = 1, A = 2 and N = 3 to make N31 02.123.

The first set of coordinates will take you to the beginning of the trail. You will solve a puzzle here for the next set of coordinates to stage 2. Look at the bench to the entrance garden. Use the last name on the plaque for the last 3 numbers of the North Coords. (N31 02.ATN) Use the first name for the last 3 numbers of the West Coords. (W083 04.NAA). This if solved correctly will take you to Stage 2

At stage 2 you will see a large stone marker with names on it. Using the two names on the 4th line solve for the following. Join both names together so you can come up with the numbers for both sets of cords, with the North Coords (N31 02.LNA) and the West Coords (W083 04.YYM). This if solved correctly will take you to Stage 3.

At stage 3, this will be the final stage. You seek a small tupperware size container that contains several items and a log. We will also drop a couple of TB's initially. With our background this was an obvious choice as to the final hiding spot.

Congrats to Kalbo29 for FTF!!!
