This is an easy cache placed
for Rosie, one of the Tank Hounds.
We got Rosie when she was going to be put down in a Colorado
Springs Shelter because she was extremely scared of people. I
mean,
terrified! We got her in Jan of 2006. By the time we moved to
Indiana in 2009 she was mostly over her terror and became the
best
dog we’ve had personality wise.
As a result of her easy-going personality we took her to most
of
the geocaching events that we attended. She went to the
MidWest
Geobash, Windy Rock, and countless other events.
In October 2009 she was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma (Cancer
of
the lymph nodes). She went through 6 months of Chemo treatments
and
then into remission. Last fall (2010) the cancer returned and
in
Feb 2011 we had to send her to the Rainbow Bridge. She was calm
and
loving until the end. We miss her terribly still. There will
never
be another “Event Rosie”.
Her last event was the “Home for the Holidays”
event
in Nov 2010.
This cache is placed in her honor. She spent a lot of time
here
because of her cancer treatments. Dr. Wittke and his staff
are
excellent and showed a lot of compassion for Rosie and for us.
The
cache is placed with Dr Wittke’s knowledge and blessing.
This
is also the rest of the Tank Hounds’ vet as well, we love
Dr.
Wittke and his staff.
As I said above, this cache is an easy one and when you get
to
the area you’ll know it when you see it. If it’s
during
office hours please use stealth, you will be right by the window
of
the waiting area. You can grab the cache, retreat to your
vehicle
or the nearby picnic table around the corner to go through
the
cache then return it stealthily.
There is no writing instrument in the cache, so
you’ll
have to bring your own. I also know the log book is horrible,
the
pages will come out easily, so be gentle with it and
I’ll
replace it when need be.
We know Rosie is up at the Rainbow Bridge greeting other
animals
that cross over and we can’t wait to see her again.
Thanks
Dr. Wittke for your compassion!
