Geocache Description:

The fifth in the series of Quick Socials in Johannesburg. We hope to see many new teams as well are our regular friends!

Inspired by Wormgeocash's Quick Cuppa (QC) Events in Pretoria, Team vdlo and ourselves (GEO936) decided to host similar Events in and around Johannesburg throughout the year. Called "Quick Social" or "QS" Events. These will be Kid Friendly, mostly on a Saturday and for just a couple of hours in the morning.

Hello fellow Geocachers!Golden Harvest Dam

Please come and join us for a lovely morning out in a great park in the heart of Johannesburg. Bring along your picnic basket, a blanket or camping chairs. There are braai facilities at this park and there is loads of space for the kids to run around. We will bring along our camping kettle on gas and coffee and tea for you to enjoy (just in case it is really cold).

There is a small soccer pitch close by so if you want to kick a ball, please bring it along!

Time: 09h30 to 11h30

Golden Harvest

"Golden Harvest Park is the largest green space for the residents of Randburg and was proscribed as a “green lung’ for Randburg in 1972. With the phenomenal growth of town house developments in the vicinity of the Park there is an ever increasing need for a Park where citizens can enjoy fresh air, greenery and space to exercise their dogs.
Golden Harvest Park The park offers opportunities for various forms of recreation, including walking, fishing and mountain biking. A stroll around the main dam can be very pleasant. The geese will come and inspect you as interlopers in their preciously guarded domain. Away from the dam there are also some interesting natural bush areas to explore."
