Avrille's Birthday Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

katiegremlin: As I have limited time to maintain my caches, I have decided to archive this (and my other local caches), giving others the chance to place new caches in the locality.

I will remove the container within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for all of the visits and logs.

Geocache Description:

A traditional cache just off A Coventry Way near to the ancient hamlet of Stareton, placed to celebrate a friend's birthday.

Stareton lies close to the National Agricultural Centre (NAC) near Stoneleigh. Originally, the hamlet was part of the Stoneleigh Abbey estate and it now comprises a number of Grade II listed cottages which are built along a beautiful tree-lined road.

The area may change in the future if the proposed HS2 rail line is given approval. The original route would have gone straight through the hamlet, but has been moved a short distance; it now goes through the NAC (Stoneleigh Park).

The cache - a small/medium lock & lock container, with a selection of goodies.

Limited parking, with careful consideration for the residents, is available near where the footpath emerges in Stareton. Alternatively, for a short pleasant walk, park by the roadside on B4113 (Stoneleigh Road) to pick up the northern part of the footpath. This will take you past another cache (Lord Leigh) and across a foootbridge, over the pretty River Avon.
